We can only ship where it is legal to do so and only to people aged 21 or above. Our Shipping Partner will require you to present identification in order to confirm your identity and legal age.
An adult signature is always required to receive wine shipments. For this reason it is often easier to ship to a business address. We strongly recommend shipping to a business address whenever possible.
Please ensure that your shipping address is complete and correct. In the event that a shipper returns wine to us as undeliverable, we must hold you responsible for all related shipping charges!
Shipping wine is not like shipping paperback books. Wine is perishable, heavy, the bottles are breakable and thedeliveries require an adult signature. Protective shipping materials are required, and a single 750ml bottle weighs four pounds. We are always on the lookout for better ways of transporting wine, but meantime, please understand that proper packaging and shipping is a worthwhile investment to protect your purchase.
We're happy to include a note from you with any wine you are gifting someone. Just add whatever wines you like to the Cart, then navigate to the CART PAGE, and enter your message in the box provided there.
We usually ship your wine to you via UPS Ground or 2-Day Delivery.
Wine can be damaged if exposed to temperatures of 85°F or above. For that reason we normally do not ship Ground when the temperature is predicted to be at or above 85°F at our location, your location or en route between the two. Temperatures below freezing can also affect wine and we exercise caution in those conditions also.
Worth repeating: Whatever shipping method is used, it is especially important that an adult be present to sign for receipt of the wine at the time of delivery. Otherwise the wine stays on the truck (or worse, gets returned to us!) thereby exposing it to the elements and the possibility of damage to the wine.
Our online Shipping Calculator only 'plays nicely' with quantities of up to 2 Cases (or 24 Bottles), for Ground or 2-Day Shipping. Pricing and the choice of shipment method will be available for your selection during the Checkout process.
We're very sorry, but it's currently not legal for us to ship directly to several states due to regulations. Currently, we CANNOT ship to: KY, MS or UT. (For more backstory on interstate shipping regulations, visit Freethegrapes.org.)
"The tannic backbone of this mountain fruit Cabernet Sauvignon paves the way to an opulent, smooth, complex and silky structure. Black fruit, co-piloted with blue fruit subtleties, drives aromatic layers that hark to the dusty soil influence from which it was born. A spicy funnel cloud of cardamom, licorice, nutmeg, chocolate-covered cherries and Crème Brulee’ emanates from atop the glass, while the savory base of earth, wood, tobacco and high minerality remains concentrated, and comfortably nestled behind. The longer this wine is in the glass, the more it evolves and explodes with mouth watering aromas."
“Right up front, this wine is vibrant, aromatic, and fruit forward, with wonderfully soft, silky tannins, and a bright acidity.
Layers of ripe black currant, cardamom, black cherry and chocolate co-mingle, showing a great breadth of spice AND savory influences throughout.
Nicely balanced acidity holds steady through this tightly woven, earthy, classically complex Coombsville Cab, supporting a long lingering finish.”
“A tannic, meaty, balanced mountain wine with a full-bodied structure, and wide, long mid-palate that washes over the sides of the tongue with Black fruit influences, and tight minerality.
Perfectly balanced acidity fills out the back end and finishes with a long, lingering Blue fruit splash, provoking an earthy wash of chocolate, berries and sandalwood.
Unmistakable hints of tobacco, nutmeg and Crème Brulee carry this wine to the end, and help to display its multi-layered spectrum of Mt Veeder structure and dusty, savory influences.”
