On the nose, this Chenin displays Citrus, Pear and Ginger notes. In the mouth, it opens up to a wide variety of soft floral and Peachy notes with a spicy, solid minerality.
Chilled, it is crisp, with a structured acidic backbone and subtle Honey-like balance.
As it warms, it really opens up to ripe Pear, Mango, Honeysuckle flowers and green herbs, and finishes with a balanced, lean and light mouthfeel.
Screams Ocean breeze and Summer wind.
Please remember that an adult signature is always required in order to receive your wine shipment.  If no one is available to sign for your package, it may be returned to us as un-deliverable. Customer is responsible for all associated shipping charges.

Very important points to know ...

  • We can only ship where it is legal to do so and only to people aged 21 or above.  Our Shipping Partner will require you to present identification in order to confirm your identity and legal age.
  • An adult signature is always required to receive wine shipments. For this reason it is often easier to ship to a business address. We strongly recommend shipping to a business address whenever possible.
  • Please ensure that your shipping address is complete and correct.  In the event that a shipper returns wine to us as undeliverable, we must hold you responsible for all related shipping charges!

Shipping wine is not like shipping paperback books. Wine is perishable, heavy, the bottles are breakable and the deliveries require an adult signature.  Protective shipping materials are required, and a single 750ml bottle weighs four pounds. We are always on the lookout for better ways of transporting wine, but meantime, please understand that proper packaging and shipping is a worthwhile investment to protect your purchase.

We're happy to include a note from you with any wine you are gifting someone.  Just add whatever wines you like to the Cart, then navigate to the CART PAGE, and enter your message in the box provided there.

We usually ship your wine to you via UPS Ground or 2-Day Delivery.

Weather

Wine can be damaged if exposed to temperatures of 85°F or above. For that reason we normally do not ship Ground when the temperature is predicted to be at or above 85°F at our location, your location or en route between the two. Temperatures below freezing can also affect wine and we exercise caution in those conditions also.
Worth repeating:  Whatever shipping method is used, it is especially important that an adult be present to sign for receipt of the wine at the time of delivery. Otherwise the wine stays on the truck (or worse, gets returned to us!) thereby exposing it to the elements and the possibility of damage to the wine.

Please Note:

Our online Shipping Calculator only 'plays nicely' with quantities of up to 2 Cases (or 24 Bottles), for Ground or 2-Day Shipping.  Pricing and the choice of shipment method will be available for your selection during the Checkout process.

We're very sorry, but it's currently not legal for us to ship directly to several states due to regulations.  Currently, we CANNOT ship to:  KY, MS or UT.  (For more backstory on interstate shipping regulations, visit Freethegrapes.org.)

“Picked young to retain acidity and keep the ALC low, this Chenin Blanc was pressed whole cluster, fermented in stainless steel. It was aged for 6 months ('sur lie') in neutral french oak puncheons (a 130 gal vessel barrel), as we wanted to highlight fruit characteristics, rather than oak - and was stirred once a week ('bâtonnage') to create texture. We arrested ALC fermentation at 4% Sugar to offset and balance the acid, and did not let malolactic happen for the same reason. Great summer wine to enjoy poolside now, but will also age nicely, and will continue to develop for years to come because of the choices in the winemaking.
